Effects of Kinesio Taping on Balance and Gait in Patients with Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Studies in Korea

Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects Kinesio taping (KT) for balance and gait in patients with stroke through meta-analysis studies conducted Korea. Methods: RISS, Science on, DBPia were three databases used collect articles on KT. Keywords such as “Stroke,” “Kinesio taping,” “Elasticity taping,” “Taping” search published articles. We systematically searched from inception each database November 2020. Interventions comparisons KT without Outcome measures timed up go (TUG) 10-meter walking tests (10MWT). Consequently, six selected second screening using meta-analyses. Results: Based results meta-analysis, comparison between showed that effective TUG (ES: 2.51, 95% CI: 2.12 2.90); however, it not 10MWT 0.79, -0.04 1.62). Conclusion: current evidence suggests is more than interventions function post-stroke patients. However, well-conducted randomized controlled trials are required future.
